No Ordinary AGM!
Dear Fairtrade supporter
Much is happening in the world of Fairtrade; we are at a turning point we would love you to be part of deciding our future direction!
You are warmly invited to come and join us for our Spring Meeting which will focus on holding a workshop on:
how CFTN needs to evolve in order to best support local campaigning activities in the face of current challenges and opportunities
how to use our campaigning time and energy most effectively towards the goals of Fairtrade
and hopefully coming up with some inspiring solutions!
We are delighted that there will also be a speaker from the Fairtrade Foundation who will give us some insights into recent developments such as new Fairtrade schemes, the implications of Brexit, developments with FT towns certification / renewal and an update on Sainsburys.
As if that wasn’t enough, there will also be Fairtrade stalls and free light refreshments! (We will have to do a little bit of official business but this will be very short!)
Those of us who have been involved with CFTN have often commented on how encouraging and inspiring it has been to get together with other campaigners and share ideas, successes and lessons learnt. It’s just as much about giving as receiving, so we hope that as many as possible will be able to come. This is going to be no ordinary AGM!
Location: Ambleside Parish Centre
Date: 28 April
Time: 9:30am for 10:00am start (probably finishing for lunch at the Centre at 1pm, but we can stay around to chat and socialise)
This is a little way off but we wanted to make sure you knew about it well in advance. We don’t need an official RSVP but it would be great to know if you are planning to come – please reply to Claire Ward at CDEC (claire@cdec.org.uk). And please share this invitation with anyone you think might be interested!
Warm regards – Martin Sleath (Chair of CFTN)
